Extreme Earth: Climate change up close
This work uses AR technology to put climate change into the viewers' space. Climate change is hard to get our heads around in part because it is so huge and happening all over the world. The piece shows in 3D how much global temperatures are different from normal in the past month (November 2021). The thermometer graphic contains contrasting red an black to catch the viewer's eye, communicate the urgency of climate change, and serve as an AR marker. Once the AR globe is showing, viewers can rotate to look more closely at their own location or zoom out to show a broader view of temperature differences.
