SPIRALING OUT OF CONTROL

Elsa Culler is a hydrologist from Boulder, CO. She is also an active member of the bipolar community. As an artist and writer, she primarily focuses on conveying the experience of mental illness, often drawing parallels to hydrologic processes and human connections with water. Her work take the viewer on a journey to the edges of human experience - from euphoria to catatonia, body horror and intrusive thoughts. By manifesting her own breaks in reality, she conveys the fragility of the human mind and the world it constructs for us.
